This course details the Lego WeDo building projects and the Scratch codes that work with them. Lego WeDo is an award-winning solution based upon the latest science standards and was created to enhance students’ curiosity and skills. The set is delivered in a storage bin along with sorting trays, labels, a Smarthub, a Medium Motor, Motion Sensor, a Tilt Sensor, and enough building elements for two students.
The accompanying desktop and tablet supported software provides an easy-to-use programming environment and includes the WeDo 2.0 Curriculum Pack, which covers life, physical, earth, and space sciences, as well as engineering. The accompanying eLearning program helps teachers to become confident users of the WeDo 2.0 Core Set.
WeDo is a fantastic new learning tool designed to introduce children to robotics, engineering, programming, and general STEM teaching through a robot-based learning system. The basic package comes with 280 building elements and a Bluetooth Low Energy-based hub.
You can download the relevant software from the Lego website If you have WeDo 2.0 then you need to download this software. It includes science and coding curriculum content, teacher resources, a documentation tool, building instructions, and tutorials.
Lego WeDo is NOT part of the Cambridge ICT Starters “Initial Steps”, or “Next Steps” syllabi. It does however complement the understanding of Scratch, Robotics, and its uses.
These resources are completely free to use. They give students, parents, and teachers an idea of what our courses look like. If you wish to have private lessons using Lego WeDo, please note that these lessons are not free. I charge 600 dollars and for that, you get 12 lessons taught online and you get access to my other courses too for the duration of the course.
